DSNY collection  trucks, turned into works of art by NYC artists: Join DSNY and the Sanitation Foundation for a first look at five unique and massive canvases before they hit the streets.

Trucks of Art is a citywide public art initiative from the NYC Department of Sanitation and the Sanitation Foundation. Artists have transformed DSNY collection trucks into bold, moving works of art using reclaimed paint generously provided by our partners at Materials for the Arts, Big Reuse, and PaintCare. On May 19, these trucks make their public debut in Union Square before heading out into neighborhoods across the city. 

The community festival is made possible with generous support from Mack Trucks and PaintCare.

Event includes:

  • Up close look at five newly painted DSNY collection trucks

  • Meet the artists behind the work

  • Commissioner remarks 11 am

  • Community clean-ups presented by Mack Trucks at 2:00 and 3:30 pm 

  • Community festival including partner tables + hands-on activities made possible by Mack Trucks and PaintCare
